The 6th European Semantic Web Conference (ESWC2009), sponsored by ACTIVE, was held in Heraklion, Greece, May 31 - June 4, 2009.
The vision of the Semantic Web is to enhance today's Web by exploiting machine-processable metadata. ESWC2009 presented the latest results in research and applications of Semantic Web technologies, a tutorial program, system descriptions and demos, a posters track, a PhD Symposium and a number of collocated workshops.
