3rd European Semantic Technology Conference (ESTC2009)

The 3rd European Semantic Technology Conference (ESTC2009), sponsored by ACTIVE, was held in Vienna, Austria, December 2 - 3, 2009.

The ACTIVE project was recently on show at the 3rd European Semantic Technology Conference (ESTC2009) in Vienna. The project had an exhibition stand in the open demo space, where visitors could see the main features of ACTIVE and the ACTIVE Knowledge Workspace. 

In addition, Rayid Ghani presented on the ACTIVE case study in Accenture.  Here ACTIVE technology is being used to help consultants find and share knowledge more effectively.  A key goal is to increase the quality of customer proposals, whilst at the same time speed up the process of creating those proposals.

The conference, held on December 2nd and 3rd 2009, focused on the growth of the ICT semantic technology markets, highlighted by showcased industry practices, advancements in the field of semantic technologies, and successful marketing strategies in delivering semantic applications that generate new revenues.  Apart from demonstrating and presenting at the conference, ACTIVE was also a conference sponsor.  The conference attracted around 150 people, and all of them left Vienna with a good understanding of what the ACTIVE project is achieving.
